The best place to stay! – Historian Inn (Trip Advisor)

This by far was the best Hotel my husband and myself have ever stayed in. It was so very clean. A fantastic King Bed with 6 pillows not your normal 2 small ones.  All the employees were very nice.  Right after we left I noticed I lost an earring (probably in all the pillows).  And guess what?  I never called them, but they called and asked if I lost an earring and that they would mail it to me. We will absolutely be staying there every time we go up that way.  Thanks again Historian Inn for making our stay special.

Perfect Stay! – Historian Inn, Gardnerville, NV

If you are going to or through this area, this is the place to stay! We came through on the first night of a cross country road trip, and we received a warm welcome after a long day of driving through the cold. We had read it had recently been renovated; it basically feels like a brand new establishment. The rooms are huge for a standard room, beautiful furnished (no floral comforters here!), and very cozy and relaxing. It was clean and had a nice spacious bathroom area. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and the lobby is just as nice as the rooms. I hope to stay here again one day!

Great hotel, great value – Historian Inn (Expedia) 5 Stars

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel.  The rooms have been recently renovated and were an excellent value for the price paid.  Loved the nice little touches not usually found at a hotel in this price range, such as robes, refrigerator, flat screen TV, extra large bath towels, etc.  The bed was very comfortable.  Will definitely stay again when traveling to the area.

Super dog friendly! – Historian Inn (Trip Advisor)

We loved this place! We were worried because we’ve driven past it before and of course, it’s old. I had knee surgery in Carson City, and we wanted to stay here because it’s across the street from a great basque restaurant.

Originally we were going to take one of our dogs, so I booked a dog friendly room. They only charge $20.00 extra for the total stay! Not per day! Great price.  In the room they had put a basket with extra towels and sheets to put on the bed or floor for the dog, poop bags and a ball. We ended up not bringing the dog, but we were certainly impressed with the room, the attitude of the staff (regarding dogs) and the grass area for the dog.

The rooms have been updated and are very, very nice. Nice bathroom vanity and shower. The bedding and bed were comfortable. It seems like we had plenty of room to move around. The staff are all very nice and helpful. They had the idea to put us on the ground floor, which I didn’t think of. They also arranged to have our room cleaned early the day of surgery so that when we got back it was ready.

We would for sure go back, in fact we are looking forward to it!

A Gem! – Historian Inn (Yelp)

The Hotel has undergone a huge renovation project! It looks great, rooms are very nice, bed is super comfy and comes with tons of pillows! Coffee and yummy tea available in lobby 24 hours a day, bikes to use for free, healthy to-go breakfasts! pets OKAY!  The place is a gem overall.  My husband and I stayed there for 10 days.  We loved it overall and would recommend to family and friends.

Absolutely Amazing! – Historian Inn (Yelp)

Absolutely an amazing place, service and people! I googled places to stay since we were going up to Tahoe to snowboard. This place is so clean and new. The beds are so so comfortable. Pillow top mattress! The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond expectations. They have a cute market with things made by local artists plus wine and many cheeses. The biggest plus is that you are allowed to bring your pets for only $20 for the whole time you stay!!! There is a dog park right next door where my pup had a blast. I am going to always stay here!!! Thank you for everything!

Yelp: Historian Inn – Gardnerville – “Skier’s Haven”

Skiers Haven!  Only about 20 minutes from the slopes and and easy drive.  I skied Kirkwood and the top of Heavenly this trip.  I was on a budget, so I stayed on the other side of the pass.  They gave me a coupon for a drink across the street – had a bite to eat, then watched a great movie in room.  Even got a bottle of wine at their market.  Best trip ever – never paying Tahoe prices again, or staying in a flea bag when this is the best hotel room ever!  Nice staff who gave me info locally for food and I could eat the breakfast on the way to the mornings first run.  I’ll Be Baaaack!
