“Our recent trip to Carson Valley, Nevada proved to be even more than the local tourism bureau boasts when they say Carson Valley, Nevada prides itself on being a “Rugged, Relaxed, and Reachable Couples travel destination.”
The Historian Inn was an exceptionally pleasant, immaculately clean and a very comfortable, relaxed, and rugged lodging experience within the heart of the Carson Valley. We enjoyed that it was central to shopping gaming, hot springs, the V&T railroad and much of the valley’s history.
We were welcomed into a clean, comfy and roomy lodge-style great room, when we checked in, and this offered us a relaxing place to read and snack and decompress from the drive. A Market/Cafe coffee shop and Salon were also nice bonuses on property, convenient for an afternoon nosh, and we especially appreciated the lack of usual cigarette smoke and gaming noise so often found in some other Carson Valley properties.
For a couple seemingly always on the go, we appreciated that our room was spacious, neat, well-decorated with western decor and quiet to boot. We enjoyed the historic art and artifacts blended with modern niceties.
Parking was easy and a quality amenities like robes and teas and excellent toiletries and snacks were furnished along with extras that were available for purchase. The proximity to dining and recreational activities made it the perfect hub for exploring the area by car or foot. For Carson Valley moderate priced lodging, it was impeccable.
While we did not have our dog with us on this visit, we noted that dogs are very welcome with a very reasonable pet fee of only $20 for the entire duration of the stay”.
